KENDAL FUNDRAISERS SEEK NEW BLOOD
The Kendal fundraising branch of Cumbria Cerebral Palsy is urgently looking for new recruits to continue its work in the town - a job it has admirably done for over 50 years – or risk imminent closure.
The charity’s Fundraising Manager Vanessa Schepers explained: “Some of our existing branch members admit they’re getting a little elderly and we desperately need some new blood to keep the group going. It would be a real shame if they were to fold after all these years.”
Branch members have regularly run concerts and events in the town, raising tens of thousands of pounds for the charity’s work with local children and adults affected by the disability.
Ms. Schepers continued: “The commitment is not great: just a willingness to get involved in occasional meetings and to help with fundraising events in and around Kendal. We’d love to hear from anyone who can help.” The future of the branch will come under discussion at a forthcoming meeting in early April. The committee would love to hear from anyone who could give a little time.
Cumbria Cerebral Palsy is an independent charity working throughout Cumbria with children and adults affected by cerebral palsy, and their carers.
